ADHD isn't really about attention. It's about how your brain manages time, motivation, follow-through, and the dozen invisible steps between knowing what to do and doing it. I work with teens and adults on the whole picture, not just productivity hacks.

What this kind of therapy actually looks like

When you work with me on ADHD, we don't spend sessions making you feel like you just need more willpower. We start from the premise that your brain works the way it works, and the goal is to build a life that fits it instead of constantly fighting against it.

Practically, that means we look at your energy curves, your environment, your relationships, and your systems. We figure out which strategies actually stick for your specific brain and which ones are just making you feel worse. We talk about the emotional pieces that rarely come up in standard ADHD conversations: the rejection sensitivity, the time blindness, the cycle of overwhelm and avoidance that leaves you exhausted before you even start.

And we unpack the shame layer. Most adults with ADHD have been told their whole lives that they're lazy, careless, or not living up to their potential. None of that is true. But undoing a lifetime of hearing it takes real work, and it's part of what therapy is for.

What ADHD looks like when it's actually ADHD

ADHD shows up differently in different people. Some of what I commonly see in the room:

ADHD never shows up alone

ADHD overlaps significantly with autism, anxiety, OCD, depression, and substance use. A lot of the adults I see have been treated for one of those for years without anyone ever screening for ADHD, and vice versa. I hold the whole picture rather than treating each label in isolation. If you have ADHD plus autism plus anxiety plus childhood trauma, we work with all of it together, because that's the reality of how it shows up.
